These are the most wonderful parents on the face of the planet. Nat and Dot were both born and raised in the south central foothills of North Carolina where they now live. Dad was born the youngest of eleven and mom, the second out of five. They have known each other since the first grade. They married shortly after graduating high school. I was conceived and born to them as my father attended East Carolina University on a baseball scholarship.
They love life and each other, an amazing event by today's standards considering a monogamous unbroken forty year marriage. They constantly support and inspire all those near and dear to them, but anyone who knows them-or of them-has nothing but positive and uplifting things to say. They have made lives of touching others. And in this calling, they both excel. Mom is retired from a lifetime career in the banking industry(although she stays busier now than she ever did while working) and Dad is anticipiating retiring from his employment with the State in the next two years. They are breaking ground on their retirement home as this page is being typed.
I cannot imagine any more supportive, loving, and caring people in the world... and they are my parents. Am I blessed or what?
